A Guide To Motorcycling in Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough (or Boro to the locals), is an old industrial town on the banks of the River Tees in the North East.
It’s also located not too far from the North York Moors National Park, and there are lots of great biking routes in the area to check out too, which pass through the neighbouring towns such as Scarborough, Darlington and Thirsk.
One of our favourites is the route down to Whitby, to the southwest. The trip is about 31 miles long and takes about an hour, taking you right through the North York Moors, with lots of corners to tackle. You could also take a slight detour to follow the coast alongside the North Sea if you wished.
Heading in the other direction out of Boro will take you up to Sunderland, which again is about 30 miles, but if you fancy heading a bit further, you could explore Seghill and Seaton Delaval on the way to Cramlington, which are all just a bit further north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
