A Bikers Guide to Crawley

Crawley has a great biking scene and is a great place to own a motorbike due to its many bike-friendly routes in and around Crawley itself. As bikers enjoy coming to this spot, there are plenty of pubs, hotels and local businesses which welcome bikers from all over the UK – and even the world!

If it’s long roads and fun rides you’re looking for Crawley and the surrounding area has it all. From long, straight stretches to twists and turns that test the control skills of the rider, which route will you decide to try?

Crawley to Eastbourne: Starting out on Crawley Avenue, head onto the A23, and then go onto the B2118, turning at Muddleswood onto the B21117 and then the A281. You will come to a road called Devil’s Dyke Road where you will need to follow the A27, and then onto the Falmer Road.

From Falmer Road, pass the coast while travelling on the A259 and make sure that you  turn onto the B2103 and onto the end of the route at Eastbourne.

The final stretch of the route is incredibly scenic, making for an enjoyable, easy 50 mile ride with few corners and good visibility.

Crawley to Cowfold: This route starts out on the A23, and you will want to follow the road towards Handcross until you come to the turning for Cowfold Road and the A272, heading for the destination of Cowfold via the A281.

It actually makes up part of the Godstone to Cowfold route, so don’t be surprised if you see quite a few vehicles on the road. It is more straightforward than many other routes, but there are some bends that need your attention.

With a nice, smooth road surface, this route is perfect for all riders!
